Nara International Film Festival International Competition Q&A Session with Ruth
"Playground" Director: Laura Wandel
"Playground" vividly depicts "life" in the schoolyard. For children, the environment of school, starting from kindergarten or nursery school, is their first experience of a "society". I feel that what happens there also happens in the adult world, albeit in a slightly different way. The camera was attached to the cinematographer's waist, and he skilfully captures the footage from the children's perspective. The children's acting is especially natural and wonderful, and the production value is also a highlight of this work.
